Celebrate June’s National Play Outside Day with the YMCA of Greater Nashua’s Summer Camp Open House Events
As National Play Outside Day approaches on June 7, the YMCA of Greater Nashua invites families across the region to celebrate the power of outdoor play by enrolling their children in one of the Y’s enriching, adventure-filled summer camps.
With dozens of weekly camps serving children ages 3 to 16, the Y’s summer offerings provide a perfect blend of recreation, learning, and exploration—all in the great outdoors. Whether your child dreams of scoring goals on the soccer field, expressing themselves through art, taking on science experiments, or simply soaking up the sun with new friends, the Y has a camp designed to inspire.
“Our summer camps are about more than just fun,” said Tiffany Joslin, YMCA of Greater Nashua Senior Program Director of Youth Development. “They’re about confidence-building, skill development, and giving kids a safe space to grow and thrive—especially outdoors, where imagination runs wild and movement comes naturally.”
From traditional day camps in Nashua and Merrimack to specialty camps like STEM Explorers, Performing Arts, and Sports Galore, every week is packed with hands-on activities, character development, and screen-free fun. Campers stay active, build friendships, and gain a deeper appreciation for nature and physical wellness—values at the heart of National Play Outside Day.
To give families a chance to learn more about camp opportunities, the YMCA is hosting a special event: S’mores and Explore at Camp Sargent on Friday, May 30 from 5:00–7:00 PM. This fun-filled evening invites families to tour the camp, meet staff, enjoy s’mores by the fire, and get campers signed up for a summer of excitement.
The first 50 campers who register for Week 1 of camp at the event will unlock exclusive camper rewards, including a picnic lunch with the camp directors for the first 15 registrants, first access to ride the new water slide for the first 25, and an extra freeze pop pass for the week for the first 50 registrants. On-site registration and financial assistance approval will be available. This is a free event and open to the community—RSVP Here!
And to celebrate what makes YMCA camps so special, families are encouraged to attend the YMCA Summer Camp Open House at Camp Sargent in Merrimack on Saturday, June 7, from 1:00–3:00 PM. This free family event, open to the community, offers a chance to explore camp activities, meet the staff, learn about programs, and sign up for summer camp on site.
