The best summer ever
Every kid should experience camp
Camp is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. Few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social, and educational activities.
Day camp can offer almost all of the benefits of traditional camp– new experiences, skill building, a sense of community and lasting friendships. At the YMCA of Greater Nashua, we offer day camps for kids of all ages.
- Young Explorers
3 Year Olds – Kindergarten
A fun-filled, recreational camp based in the Merrimack Y Child Care Center. Each week centers on a unique theme, with a special event to wrap-up the week every Friday. Activities include songs, stories, dramatic play, building, creative projects, cooking, and splashing around in the sprinklers or wading pool. Children will also enjoy swim time in the Y pool once a week.
Professional staff and low teacher/child ratios assure a safe and fun time for your preschooler. It’s a perfect way to introduce your child to a preschool setting or to help your child make new friends and socialize with peers. Half-day and full-day options are available.
- Camp Create
Campers can indulge in their creative side through various specialty camps that focus on arts, dance, drama, gymnastics, and more. Activities include songs, crafts, projects, gym time among others. A few specialty camps offered are Acting 101, Broadway Kids, Creative Arts, Culinary Kids, Circus Camp, Guitar Camp, Sing it Out, and Visual Arts.
All staff are hired based on prior experience working with school-age children and proven ability to lead in a group in a safe and fun environment.
- Sports Camp
If your budding superstar is looking to increase his or her skills and learn about the value of teamwork and sportsmanship, the Sports Camp is for you. Camps include Basketball, Fencing, Flag Football, Floor Hockey, Soccer, Swim and Volleyball.
Daily drills and weekly competitions ensure skill development, while team building exercises promote the development of the whole athlete.
