POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Health and Wellness, Certified Personal Trainers play a key role in creating a welcoming and encouraging environment in our Wellness Centers. You’ll support members through personalized training programs, small group sessions, and meaningful coaching. Your impact goes beyond fitness—you’ll help members feel connected, empowered, and supported in their journey toward a healthier life.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Certified in Red Cross First Aid and Adult CPR/AED
  • Current personal training certification from a nationally recognized organization (ACSM, ACE, NASM, AFAA)
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and deliver personalized fitness programs and group sessions tailored to a wide range of abilities and goals
  • Build genuine relationships—learn member names, celebrate milestones, and foster community connections
  • Model excellent listening and communication skills to help members feel heard, valued, and supported
  • Educate members on YMCA programs and services, guiding them to additional opportunities for engagement
  • Maintain accurate records of client sessions and progress
  • Participate in staff trainings and community wellness events
  • Ensure safety and uphold Wellness Center policies at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
