Certified Personal Trainer

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Health and Wellness, the role of Personal Trainer is responsible for delivering exceptional experiences to our members at the Y. The Personal Trainer is to deliver consultations, personal training sessions, and small group training sessions tailored to each individual member’s needs. The Personal Trainer is also responsible for cultivating an environment of inclusivity and community at the Y. Consultations and clients are obtained through member interactions and assignments by the Director of Health and Wellness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Current Red Cross First Aid and Adult CPR/AED certification
- Must hold and maintain a personal training certification from an NCCA accredited source (ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, AFAA, NCSF, ISSA)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Proficiency in basic computer and technology skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Possess a desire to grow and increase knowledge as a fitness professional
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deliver personal training consultations, assessments, and other complimentary services for members.
- Provide fitness programs, including personal training and small group training, to a diverse population.
- Follow up with personal training clients to monitor their health and wellness goals and facility usage. Including tracking of clients’ progress through reassessment and/or feedback.
- Engage with members in a way that makes them feel welcomed and connected to the Y. This includes remembering names, introducing members to fellow staff, answering Y program-related questions.
- Maintain a safe wellness floor and facility by ensuring members are following Y and wellness center rules and policies.
- Track and reconcile personal training consultations and sessions as they occur.
- Manage an accurate schedule, including client appointments, meetings, and availability.
- Attend any required team meetings or individual meetings with the Director of Health and Wellness. Participate in wellness and Y community.
- Meet all deadlines for payroll
- Maintain knowledge of Y services and programs.
- Other duties not listed here may be assigned
