Camp registration is open and camp starts on June 22! Through a mix of fun and educational activities aimed at improving well-being, kids will experience new adventures, learn and master new skills, share and trade interests with friends, exchanging plenty of high-fives along the way. Opening with Safety, Care and Fun at the Forefront:

As we reopen YMCA Summer Camp up to the Greater Nashua Community, starting on June 22, it is important for all of us to remember that while we take care of our own personal health, we all have a responsibility to the public health. As such, our YMCA will reopen with different restrictions and responsibilities for campers and staff to best ensure safety and as much fun as possible for all.

We encourage you to please view the Member Town Hall video below as it should help to answer many questions you may have. The Member Town Hall Meeting explains our approach for hosting Summer Camp this summer. We’ve also created a Frequently Asked Questions document. If you have further questions, contacts are listed below for more information, by camp and subject.

While camp will look and feel a bit different, we are committed to ensuring that our staff will create the same memorable experience for campers this summer that they have in the past. There are a few important changes that are covered in the Camp Town Hall meeting above that we wanted to ensure you saw:

What the YMCA is Doing at Summer Camp

Our #1 Priority is to Make Our Facilities as Safe as Possible When We Begin Reopening.

Our camps and facilities have undergone a deep cleaning to prepare for the reopening and although it will look and feel a bit different when you visit camp this summer, the adjustments we’ve made to our facilities will help make it safe for everyone to enjoy the benefits of the YMCA and it’s summer camps.

Below are some of the adjustments we have made:

  • We have increased our cleaning staff.

  • There are more sanitizing stations throughout the property and facility.

  • We have added physical distancing markings and signage where possible.

  • Activity areas/equipment will be cleaned and sanitized as best as possible during transition times

  • We are using a 9:1 camper to staff ratio per state guidelines.

    • Campers and staff will not mix with other groups during the camp weeks.

    • Camps will do their best to keep the same counselor with the same campers throughout the summer, when possible.

    • All employees and volunteers will have temp checks, health screens, and will wash their hands upon arriving to work.

    • All employees/volunteers will wear face coverings.

  • We’ve increased staff training leading into the summer season.

  • Our new membership account management software, Personify, will make it easier to register and add information about your camper to our systems from home.

Welcome to summer at The YMCA of Greater Nashua. We provide affordable, quality summer experiences. Whether you’re considering a traditional day camp or a specialty camp, summer at the Y is filled with excitement, adventure, new friends, lifelong memories, and most of all, discovery! With camp programs based on the Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, we provide children with a priceless experience in a safe and supportive environment where their safety is our top priority.

“With school out during the summer, many kids don’t get enough physical activity or learning—a critical gap the Y is addressing,” says Tiffany Joslin, director of Camp Sargent. “At camp kids are in a safe environment with nurturing adults where they feel welcome, develop character and explore new talents and interests to reach their potential. We want to ensure that campers in our camp programs return to their school year more confident, civically-minded and believing that they can contribute to making the world a better place to live. Our programs are more than just a place to be in the summer, we will help children become the person they want to be.”

There are few unique environments as special as camp, where kids become part of a community and form friendships as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group as they engage in physical, social, and educational activities every day. Amidst all the fun of swimming, sports activities, archery, and creative arts; children develop attitudes that build character and promote leadership. At the Y, we feel that every child should be given the opportunity to experience summer camp. That is why we offer more than 40 camp programs at four different Y locations in the Greater Nashua Area.
