Summer Camp: Get More Out of Summer Break

My Y Story: A Camper's Story

Summer Camp, Giving Back, Nashua YMCA,, YMCA, YMCA of Greater Nashua, Achieving Our Goals Together“My 6-year-old son had a very difficult school year and lost all confidence and sense of belonging. Camp Sargent helped him achieve goals in new activities that he would not have been able to experience otherwise. He began to believe in himself, show a positive attitude outside the home, create friendships and often showed pride in being a part of the camp. The experience was priceless.”

This quote exemplifies many experiences at our day and resident camps.

The YMCA of Greater Nashua’s Day camp programs offer kids an enriching, learning experience to help them get more out of summer break – more friendships, more accomplishments and more belonging. Through a mix of fun and educational activities aimed at improving well-being, kids will experience new adventures, learn and master new skills, share and trade interests with friends, exchanging plenty of high-fives along the way.

Our capital fund raising efforts will allow us to build new cabins and renovate existing ones at Camp Sargent, ensuring more children achieve the camp experience each summer.  Summer camps provide pivotal growth experiences for children, improving social skills, opportunities for leadership development, and conquering challenges.  Our goal is campers have fun, make friends, and continue learning throughout the summer.  The YMCA of Greater Nashua offers the traditional camp experience for 2,500 youth a summer from all backgrounds in three locations:  Camp Sargent on Lake Naticook in Merrimack, Create Camps at the Merrimack YMCA and Sports Camps at the Westwood Park YMCA.
