KYLE SCHNECK: FROM Y KID TO YMCA BOARD MEMBER, A NATURAL FIT FOR ME

Kyle Schneck has been a Y member almost his entire life, starting as a kid when he grew up in Concord. For him, it was a natural fit to connect with the Y when he and his wife Amanda moved to Nashua. Their children Alexa (Lexi) and Austin (A.J.) are Y kids, too! When the Schnecks looked at full-day childcare options, their main concern was for A.J. “He had health issues. We wanted to be sure that we had great communication and the best care possible” when checking local options. They settled on the Y’s Early Education Center and were so pleased with the care and educational opportunities for their children.

As Kyle got more established in the community, both living and working here, he wanted to serve on a non-profit Board. He met with dozens of organizations, and “was looking to see where the best fit was for me. I wanted to be fully vested with an organization that made an impact. I had been on many community committees, but was looking to further engage with one. My history with the Y made it a natural fit for me.”

The Schneck family is engaged as members, volunteers, and as donors. “It’s a lot easier being a donor when you are also on the Board. I have direct insight into where my investment goes. Amanda and I see the benefit to families and children throughout annual campaign support. The Y is not single-focused in its work. The various programs really make our community and individuals stronger. The Power Scholars Academy is a program I fell in love with and now with the learning loss caused by the pandemic it is even more critical. Hearing the impact stories from the children who go through the program is inspirational. We feel great about our money going to great use and making a difference.”

When Kyle joined St. Mary’s Bank he saw that the Y and St. Mary’s missions were similarly focused. “Like the Y, our mission is to support our members and the community. As St. Mary’s has continued to grow its presence in Greater Nashua, we look to align ourselves with organizations that have a significant community impact. Financial literacy is one key area St. Mary’s focuses on. Considering the YMCA’s program offerings for after school, Power Scholars Academy, and Education Academy, there is no better organization in Nashua for us to align with for teaching financial literacy to our youth,” he said.

YMCA Board member (serving as Secretary of the Board) Kyle Schneck is Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking for St. Mary’s Bank. His wife Amanda owns Pearl Marketing, a boutique marketing firm based in Nashua. The Schnecks have lived in Nashua for 8 years and love all that this community offers their family.
