Merrimack YMCA’s Early Education Center Renovation Project – Spring 2025
The YMCA of Greater Nashua is excited to announce a transformative renovation of the Merrimack YMCA Early Education Center. Phase one of a multi-phase renovation project at the Merrimack YMCA, the transformation of the Early Education Center, represents a commitment to expanding our impact, creating modern, engaging learning environments, and sustaining the quality early education that defines our mission. As we shape the future of the YMCA, we’re answering the call to support the next generation and ensure the center’s sustainability and educational excellence.
Child care is the workforce behind the workforce. At the Y, we’re proud to enable over 500 parents and caregivers to actively participate in the economy, thanks to the support provided by the Early Education Center. Serving more than 350 children from 6 weeks old to Kindergarten, the EEC is the largest child care center in New Hampshire and the largest YMCA child care site in the country. We are especially proud of the socio-economic diversity within our program, made possible through our unique financial assistance offerings.
Capital Transformation in the Early Education Center Renovation
In the coming weeks and months, the Merrimack YMCA Early Education Center will undergo exciting changes. We’ll share updates about the renovation plans and programming details as we make progress.
Phase 1 of the Multi-Phase Merrimack YMCA Renovation Project, the Transformation of the Early Education Center, is Scheduled to Begin in Early Spring 2025 and Take About 4 Months. Highlights of this Renovation Include:
-
Creating Places to Belong: A brighter, more welcoming main boulevard will be built to foster community and encourage children and families to gather and learn.
-
Creating Places to Achieve: Three new permanent classrooms, each with private bathrooms, will be added, increasing the total number of classrooms to 19. This expansion will allow us to serve even more families. Over time, most classrooms will be renovated as part of a phased approach.
-
Creating Places to Connect: Dedicated spaces such as break room areas and quiet planning spaces will be created for the 100 teachers and support staff who provide quality care each and every day.
-
Creating Security: Safety measures will be enhanced, including new classroom doors and relocating the secured entrance to ensure all classrooms are within a restricted-access area.
