Volunteer Spotlight: Patricia John

Patricia John, YMCA of Greater NashuaPATRICIA JOHN: YMCA GRANDFRIEND VOLUNTEER

When I moved to Nashua in 2016 I needed to find a gym – and the Y provided me with everything I needed: two great facilities, wonderful Yoga classes and a chance to swim. The Y also provided an opportunity to give back through Volunteer work. Last year I worked with Randy Menken, Camp Sargent director, scanning historic photos and documents related to Camp Sargent. This year I’ve started a new volunteer adventure with the child care center in Merrimack. I’ve been assisting children as they walk to their afternoon classes and also have been honored to be the first YMCA GrandFriend.  It’s been an amazing experience seeing how the dedicated child care staff keep things running smoothly and give so much love and attention to the children. This experience has been very rewarding on many levels and I look forward to continued volunteer opportunities with the wonderful staff and children in Merrimack!
