YMCA of Greater Nashua Invites Community to “Y Day of Giving” on Monday, May 11
The YMCA of Greater Nashua is inviting the community to come together for its annual Y Day of Giving on Monday, May 11, 2026 – a day dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial circumstance, has access to the life-changing programs and services the Y provides.
This year’s event will feature a mix of community-driven activities, fundraising efforts, and opportunities for members and residents to get involved in meaningful ways.
“At the Y, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to belong,” said Mike LaChance, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Nashua. “Y Day of Giving is about removing barriers so kids can go to camp, families can access childcare, and individuals of all ages can improve their health and well-being. It’s a day where our community comes together to make that possible.”
Community Events Highlight the Day
A featured event of the day is the Walk for Y CARES, a 2.5-mile community walk through Mine Falls Park beginning at 9:00 AM. Organized by the Y Trail Walking Group, the walk is free and open to all ages, but donations to our Y CARES fund are greatly appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome, and participants are encouraged to bring friends, family members, and neighbors. You can also register for the walk in advance and make a donation online at https://operations.daxko.com/Online/5286/ProgramsV2/OfferingDetails.mvc?program_id=TMP33948&offering_id=SES486835&location_id=B244
In Merrimack, the YMCA’s Early Education Center will host a spirited “Penny Wars” competition among its classrooms, encouraging young learners and their families to contribute spare change to support Y CARES while fostering teamwork and community spirit.
Supporting Access for All
Funds raised during Y Day of Giving directly support Y CARES Financial Assistance, which helps individuals and families access YMCA programs including childcare, summer camp, youth sports, swim lessons, and wellness programs.
Community members can also amplify their impact by creating their own personal fundraising pages and inviting their networks to contribute.
“Every dollar raised stays right here in our community,” said Joe Manzoli, COO of the YMCA of Greater Nashua. “It helps ensure that the Y remains a place where everyone – regardless of income – can connect, grow, thrive and belong.”
Thank you to our Y Day of Giving Partners
