The Y and Fidelity Investments: A Rewarding Partnership

Fidelity Investments has a longstanding commitment to the communities where their associates live and work.  Now more than ever, businesses and non-profit organizations need to come together to respond to challenges.

Fidelity Investments has a long history with the Y, spanning nearly a decade. “Fidelity looks to partner with organizations like the YMCA that make real and meaningful impacts in our communities. We love partnering with the Y who welcomes us with open arms to make an impact on the community. Our associates have enjoyed volunteering at Camp Sargent, where kids spend the summer, not in front of the television, but getting an educational experience,” said Christina Cuzzi, Fidelity Investments’ Senior Manager of Community Relations. “In past years, our Merrimack Campus has provided hundreds of volunteers for our Fidelity Cares Day. Some of our associates attended this camp as a child or have children who participate in Camp Sargent programming making our participation even more special. Associates visited the camp to build, paint, clean up the waterfront, and to prepare an outdoor space for kids to spend the summer at a safe and dependable camp,” she said.

Fidelity also helped the Y start our popular Y Achievers program, with funding and the assistance of mentors working directly with the students. “At Fidelity, we believe people are our greatest asset and we’re finding ways for them to leverage their skills to make a difference in the lives of students and families. The 1:1 mentoring through Y-Achievers created a connection that was important to our volunteers and the students. Our Mentors were thrilled to have the opportunity to help guide students through their experience, going on field trips, and completing college applications. They saw the results of program as students started college or joined the work force,” Christina said.

With the need to evolve how we all work together in this new environment, Fidelity continues to increase their focus on creating greater community impact by understanding, supporting, and partnering with non-profits in non-traditional ways.  Christina adds, “Making that impact on students, families, and the community is what’s important and we are focused on making sure the community gets what they need at this time. Together we can continue building these rewarding partnerships and make a different in the world around us.”
