Greater Nashua Y Feels Like Family

My Y Story: Amanda Brien

Amanda Y Story. familyAmanda was searching for kindergarten options for her son Camden, when she came across the YMCA of Greater Nashua. She was worried that she couldn’t afford the Y for her family as a single mom, but thanks to financial assistance from the Y Cares program, Amanda and Cam were able to become members and Cam enrolled in kindergarten.

“My favorite thing about the Y is that it’s welcoming and everyone is nice, helpful, and caring, “Amanda says. “When I walk in, I’m comfortable – it’s like a big family. Cam loves being here and he loves the classes and events. He’s gaining confidence and learning to be more independent, and I love knowing that I don’t have to worry about him because he’s somewhere safe. It’s a real community here.”
