Membership Changes

Learn how to make changes to your membership during the Y closures for COVID-19

THE MISSION OF THE Y IS NEEDED NOW, MORE THAN EVER.

As you know, the Y is a nonprofit charitable organization that operates branches, childcare sites, camp sites, and local in-school centers. Having to temporarily close our facilities was not a decision we took lightly, but one we made to do our part to help slow down the spread of the virus. Our facilities may be closed, but the YMCA of Greater Nashua’s service to community is not.

Since our founding, we have met the challenges our community is facing. From the need to serve young people in the industrial revolution to becoming a leader in child care when more parents had to work to shuffling programs after 9/11, we have been there for the community. Today is no different. We are pushing forward with plans to assist our members and community in a number of ways during this unprecedented time. We ask that our members stay engaged with the YMCA during this time as we are all stronger as a group. We’ll get through this together.

During the temporary shutdown of our normal programs and operations we are providing emergency care for children of medical personnel, first responders, and other essential workers in our community. We are hosting blood drives in our gymnasiums. We are working with community partners on the serious needs of assisting local schools with developing remote learning opportunities and helping align students and families who are food insecure with the resources they need. And, we are keeping our members healthy and engaged with virtual group fitness and wellness classes and online learning resources and activities in the fields of STEM, art, sports, dance and more on our Beyond Our Walls page and social media platforms.

Considering all that needs to be done to help our community get back on its feet and healthy, we’ve been charged with determining the best course of action for our members and our staff. So, we’re here to offer three options and we hope one will work for you. You can choose whichever one works best for you and your family.
