POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of our Healthy Living team, you’ll lead wellness programs, personalized training sessions, and small group classes. You’ll also support participants navigating chronic disease prevention and management through evidence-based health initiatives — empowering them to take control of their health and live with purpose.

SCHEDULE AND FLEXIBILITY:

  • Must be available to work at least one evening per week
  • Flexible part-time scheduling

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nationally recognized Personal Training certification (ACSM, ACE, NASM, AFAA)
  • Nutrition certification or degree in nutrition/related field
  • 1-2 years experience in personal training, coaching, or group fitness
  • A compassionate, inclusive, and adaptive approach to instruction
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and lead physical activity sessions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support individuals across a wide range of backgrounds and health needs

 YOUR DAILY IMPACT:

  • Design and deliver personalized and small group fitness programs that inspire goal setting and success
  • Lead Evidence-Based Health Initiatives (EBHI) like Diabetes Prevention, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring, arthritis-friendly movement, and LIVESTRONG® at the Y (training provided)
  • Provide accessible, inclusive options for all fitness levels and abilities

  • Track attendance, participant progress, and program outcomes
  • Create an encouraging, connected space where everyone feels supported and seen
  • Collaborate with fellow Y staff to connect members with additional resources
  • Be a visible, welcoming presence before and after sessions
  • Flexibility to support various tasks and initiatives as needed
