Before School Site Director - Merrimack YMCA

Time: 6:30am-8:30am Merrimack YMCA

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
This part-time Site Director role is for our before school program serving 5-12 year olds in our Merrimack branch from September – June.  There is potential for this role to expand into a full-time position in the future.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and implementing developmentally appropriate enrichment classes for differing grade levels.
  • Preparing classrooms for daily activities and collaborating with staff to ensure that objectives are reached.
  • Maintaining accurate program records for child care licensing.
  • Maintaining an organized and efficient program.
  • Adhering to all Child Care Licensing rules.
  • Creating a positive, achievement-oriented, organized and engaging learning environment.
  • Directly supervising Group Leaders and reporting to Director of Happy Kids.
  • Providing consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior grounded in positive discipline.
  • Empowering students and staff to make positive choices and serve as role models.
  • Creating and directing project based learning.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years supervising experience.
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience.
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration with diverse populations.
  • Desire to work with preschool and school age students and their families.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and technological (computer/internet) skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence students, staff, community members & families.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Committed to the goals of the program and approach.
  • Love and respect for children.
  • Evidence of efficacy and willingness to be a team player.
  • Belief and commitment to the Y’s mission and values.
