Return to a Normal Life

LIVESTRONG at the Y, a research-based physical activity and well-being initiative that helps people affected by cancer reach their holistic health goals. This program is available to cancer survivors and their families in the Greater Nashua community. More than 500 cancer survivors in our area have benefited from the program at our Y in the past few years.

The Y engages cancer survivors through an approach that focuses on the whole person. Participants work with trained Y staff to build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability.

In addition to physical benefits, the program also focuses on the emotional well-being of survivors by providing a supportive community environment where people affected by cancer can connect during treatment and beyond. Each session is 12 weeks long, and participants meet twice per week.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is just one of our enriching programs that we are able to offer to community members completely free of cost to them because of the generosity of our donors.
