The new Nashua YMCA will be in the geographic center of the city at exit 5W and 30 seconds from Route 3 making the facility accessible to thousands more children, adults and families. Additionally, this site is a recreation center for the city and the YMCA and other organizations can work in synergy to expand offerings. Immediately adjacent to the site is an ice arena, football stadium, Mine Falls Park with walking and biking trails which connect to downtown, police headquarters and Nashua South High School. This location is also home to the city's bus transportation hub allowing easy access to the new YMCA for those living in every corner of the city.

Many of the features planned for the new facility will compliment, rather than duplicate, features of the Merrimack Y, encouraging use of both facilities once the new Nashua Y is built.
NEW FACILITY FEATURES

6,000 square foot WELLNESS CENTER will all new cardio and strength training equipment
6 lane POOL to provide lap swimming, lessons, swim meets and practice, Special Olympics, etc.
FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER (attached to the pool) that will have water play structures and will also hold swim lessons, water exercise classes and as well as water therapy
INTER-GENERATIONAL ACTIVITY CENTER for teens, after school activities, space for senior citizens to socialize and much more
2 large STUDIOS where dance classes, yoga, Pilates and group exercise will take place
FAMILY ADVENTURE CENTER with mats, indoor play structures, climbing walls and more for family fun and physical activity
INTERACTIVE YOUTH WELLNESS CENTER to engage children in regular wellness activities, learn about healthy eating and living, build friendships
KID'S STOP BABYSITTING SERVICE while parents improve their own health and wellness
AFTER SCHOOL & DAY CAMP PROGRAMS to provide a safe place for children to learn and play while parents work

Other important aspects of this project include:
Decreased utility consumption and increased operating efficiency mean that more funds can be invested in people and programs instead of heating, electric and repair costs. Plans are in place to make the new Nashua YMCA LEED certified.
Fully Handicap accessible (the current Nashua YMCA is not)
More central location which will allow the YMCA values to be shared with thousands more members of the southern New Hampshire community
The revenue generated by a new Nashua YMCA will enable the YMCA of Greater Nashua to invest back in its other two properties (the Merrimack YMCA and Camp Sargent) in the coming years and increase funds available for Y Cares Financial Assistance
